Pallet enclosures

I enjoy seeing the "behind-the-scenes" areas of gardens, too.

We realise that we have been working without a "kitchen" in our garden. This has become quite a headache in the last year as we do things on quite a large scale. With the use of the bottom of our neighbour's garden, we now have space for storing and over-wintering things.

When I dismantle tiered baskets in the autumn, and then make them up again in the spring, I create quite a mess with the compost. This usually coincides with a particularly rainy period and our york stone paths get covered in black mud! I have tried protecting myself with a gazebo, but it really does make quite an eyesore.

I usually hide the empty tiered baskets amongst the shrubs in the borders when we have our first open day in May. Next year, we are opening in February and March so there's no-where to hide all the paraphernalia. (I did find several tiered baskets in our lounge last winter when my husband was trying to take photographs of the borders!)

Now - we have space!!!

I had pallets given to me when I lived in the old cottage. I used them as fences. They didn't look too bad either. I only had to but preservative. They lasted for years.

Well, I think that this "kitchen" is worthy of any top chef! I love it! And your neighbour is a neighbour indeed!
