I got this off the bargain stand and it really perked right up. It might get just too big for upstairs , but I love it anyway.

More into the challenge once I have had trouble with one. The real trouble is I don't have trouble very often, so I keep getting more, and they keep getting bigger. :-) I still do love each and every one. I'd say the variety comes from an unusual selection of sources up here.

Well you certainly have the right nickname! From the looks of things it's more than the thumb that's green. More like green hand up to the elbow!Lol.

lol, green up to the elbows. As much as they spread in here, I feel like that sometimes....lol.

Greenthumb,
Believe it or not...you can cut a banana-stalk in half and it will continue to grow where it was cut during the growing season. I know it sounds drastic but if you have limited space it will keep the plant smaller. Bananas will only put out so many leaves until it blooms and fruits though...then the stem will die. However, it will put out new pups.
I know quite a bit about bananas...I have been growing them for years...and am growing 7 varieties of bananas. (my varieties are: White Iholena, Mysore, Super Dwarf, Golden Fingers, Ice Cream, and Ae, Ae).

That was my guess Delonix, I just hadn't had one to try anything on. I also knew they only got so large, but there is a limit here of about five feet before its taller than the light and 7 feet at the ceiling. I know it spreads underground as well, does this require new potting now and then, or would just cutting back restrain it enough. I can always divide. :-)

Yes, you can cut some of the roots and replant into the same container with new soil. Usually, at the same time you can separate the plants if there's new pups.

You are growing an interesting variety of plants and they are all thriving. I take it you like a challenge?
