hope I can find a spot where it will survive the winter.

ah yes...I fight the humidity battle all winter...not too much ...not too little...I'm hoping for greater success since I've potted it up in a clay pot and its sitting inside my fav. Italian terracotta basin.

I put mine in the shower after raising a mist in the bathroom by running the hot water.

I put my orchids in the bathroom for that same reason, GG..lol... they get misted everytime someone showers!...will have to put the fern in there too if I can find the room for all the plants and us!

Around the kitchen sink works pretty well for that too. I'd recommend my method, but I just found a bromeliad puping behind the couch that I was going to throw out and forgot, so I think my indoor humidity is already high on its own. (I wondered why my ferns were so happy, we aren't humid in winter here)

Try spraying the foliage with tepid water Lori, every week, see if this helps.
