Whats the project NP.. Gorgeous Drawing..

ow the project is the drawing.i was so pleased with my first in a long time pencil drawing that i did of my partner as a kiddy.i normaly use coloured pencils for drawing but because this was black and white i used pencils.i looked for old black and white photos then and came up with old indian as in coboy and indian pictures.this old lady was in them but i cant make out her race realy just loved the picture.im gonna do pencil in the background and use water colour black,grey and white in the forground.the eyes are nearly done but the rest is just the outline if you like.im hoping it will be three dimentional looking but hay ho have a great weekend.

you are so talented, NP.... I love the character of the aged, too....the lines and wrinkles are a challenge to render...but, in my opinion, the soul shines brighter from hooded eyes. There's a depth there that reaches in and grabs an artist, saying~~like the poodle~~ "here I am! show them!"

That is so great. I used to hike the Dragoon and Chircahua ranges of Arizona and always felt that I was an outsider, a parasite that could just visit what was once America. An America that was of the original American human: the Indian.

This picture could have been of the early Athabascan Apache. These people would migrate between New Mexcio, Arizona and Mexico. They were and remain a fascinating people.

People know of Geronimo and Chochise, but few have read about Victorio. He was one of the last leaders of the Chihinnes, a survivor of the genocide we inflicted upon this nation. That picture reminds me of him.

Pink, that was a commentary by one of my employers. Others ask me if I'm from Ireland. Only a few catch the German. How did I come to this accent? Either, I might have been Irish in a former life, or I am heading there in my next.

Someday, I will post my story of Bita. I only wished I had interviewed her a long time earlier. Jim is writing about his grandfather and I think it will be very interesting. I only wish he had written about himself.

I had a chance to do that yesterday. We have this, dare I say it somewhat eccentric lady I bump into on occasion. She would carry her Chihauha in her purse, and if she really liked you she would pull it out and say “Rabies.” You have rabies. The dog would promptly run in circles trying to bite its tail.

The dog is no more, but the lady was so happy I had rememberd.

We (Europeans and their ancestors) have many things to be ashamed about in our treatment of the original peoples of this continent. My husband teaches Native Studies (in Canada) it is a required course for the Native students in all parts of the province. We have a large native population and they are taught about all the First Nations...their history, their customs and practices...their legends too...There are native teachers who are teaching the syllabics of first nations languages to their children so that they can not only speak their own language but write it too. At my husband's present school he teaches Iroquois and Six Nations....in the north..he taught the Cree. The First Nations groups here in Canada have supporters in Germany, and communicate with native groups in South America, New Zealand and Australia... there is growing pride in their ancestry. They also venerate the aged members of their society...their "elders".

your right but it didnt realy stop even now i guess.i am coverd in tattoos .i know what thats like but im strong enough not to worry.there only people i dont want to talk to.it doesnt make selling art easy though.the early cowboy films show the indians as bad evil people and cowboys as our saviers.sorry i cant spell.they dont show the slave trade.murdering of the native peoples food because they couldnt beat them.the rail road is the key.i believe the white man shall we call them.im one im ashamed to say would kill a hole hurd stroll over and cut a choice cut like a tongue and leave the rest to rot.they killed 60,000,000 .it doesnt bare thinking about.we have as a race got a lot to be ashamed of.for things with the biggest brains we realy do some stupid.greedy violent things.it kind of makes us the most stupid.look at our breeding and killing of the rain forest.so theres to many people on the planet i know lets breed even more and chop down more trees.alians would see us as the virus we probably are.ofcourse i try and be a good persen.im sure most people would say that.im sure there are some good people out there but you know.native people normaly do know egsactly how to respect there food source and seroundings and the only thing that messes that up is the good old white man.we got a lot to answer for.anyway thats my ranting and raving for the day take care bye for now take care.

Hey NP..can recommend a book: 'In the Hands of the Great Spirit' by Jake Page....20,000 year history of the American Indian. Factual with compassion. Great pics in there too. lol

its the same in germany they have just started putting about the holocaust in the cariculam excuse my spelling . some people dont believe it happend and lots just havnt herd about it .disgracefull isnt it .we should look at the past so we can learn for the future . i believe its called wisdom lol .
