I dont know where you get your inspiration from but I hope you dont mind if I "borrow" some of your ideas.

They are Sanvitalia - a woody-stemmed "annual". Could try to overwinter them somewhere frost-free. They drink copious amounts of water so are best kept alone in their pots.
