They are so lacy...they look like J.maples but they are hardier...and the flowers are extremely pretty. They were very popular this past spring...featured in many of the plant catalogues...I subscribe to an email service from a plant hunter and it's a joy to see all the new shrubs as they are being developed.

I just had to bring this with me to our new garden, it would have been flattened by now, if left. There are still some lovely berries on it - like little chocolate-coated raisins - but I just can't seem to get a good pic of them. To see the flowers, click on the "Garden" tab on my homepage and select D. Shrubs and Climbers. The Sambucus "BL" flowers are on the far right, second row from the bottom. Lori, I see that you lead the comments under this one, lol!

Great selection David, it's a winner for the color alone, the blooms and berries are a great extra bonus!

Many thanx, Fl! I just wish I could get a good pic of the wonderful berries. They've gone now. Maybe next season?

Mine's all frosted now :(
Hoping it will flower for me next spring though.
