'Freaky' blackbird

Freaky has been coming to my garden for months. He is very tame and seems to have no fear of anything; he totally ignores Chloe and she ignores him, thank goodness. He appeared in spring, very tatty looking, feathers askew and never seemed to fly. He just loitered around the garden under bushes and appeared at my feet whenever I went out there. If I was late getting up in the morning he would be waiting on the back doorstep. He loves crumbled up cheese straws and was quite content to wait while I dug up worms for him which I did on several occasions because I was worried he didn't have a balanced diet! I thought he seemed a bit 'backward' and needed all the help he could get. He disappeared a few weeks ago and I thought that he had perished but, lo and behold, he arrived back yesterday morning, on the back doorstep, looking very smart - no feathers out of place and very full of himself. He ate a few raisins and some oat flakes and then flew off!! I spotted him in a tree this morning and as soon as I opened the back door he flew down for his breakfast. I feel like a very proud mum!
