Another one for Terratoonie, these canaries were some of the birds I kept when I had an aviary. When I had to move and was unable to keep them I gave them to a young lad starting out keeping birds. His Dad had converted a 40' container into a flight so I was sure they would have a good life!

I also had zebra finches and Bengalese finches but the canaries always favoured the greens and egg food I put in, hence no other birds in this picture!

Just in this photo I've counted nine canaries, so you must have had quite a large collection of birds altogether. Fantastic !

TT, altogether I had around 40 birds! A large aviary but not as large as where they went to! The Zebra finches are prolific breeders and the canaries always did well and I never got rid of any, every now and then nature took it's course so it kept to manageable numbers.
