Nice... I'm wondering what that plant in the center foreground is. Seems familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

Thanks everyone, it's been unusually cold here too this Autumn, actually I believe Mother nature just decided to skip Autumn this year and jumped straight into Winter, and she just forgot to give us any warning !
Charlie, the white and green variegated shrub that is behind the solar light is an Euonymus 'Emerald Gaiety', and in case that's not the one you were talking about...lol, the yellow thread leaf shrub is a Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Sungold', it's known as a dwarf gold threadleaf false cypress. I hope one of those were the one you were asking about. :-)

love your little windmill...does it pump water from the lake?

Thanks Lori, it's just a yard ornament. Think I gave 15 dollars for it at a Homier Inc. convention about 7 years ago.

A false cypress! Okay...I have 3 small cypresses, but they're not dwarf or gold. This one looks very pretty and frilly.

I have two of these, Charlieb, and I can vouch for their hardiness and they are very lacy, frilly, but a reasonably dense ground hugging shrub...they add a wonderful lightness when grown next to something dense and architectural like an Alberta Pine which is conical or a Sphitzer (?sp?) juniper... Have you seen the Siberian cypress? it is also spreading and lacy, and turns a wonderful bronze in winter.
