We have a bear in-training for the Vancouver Winter Welly Olympics.

He looks like he is rehearsing his part well for the Snowshoe "Rose Marie" on an avalanche......."When I'm calling YOoooooouuuuuu oooo oo ooo oo oo oooooo...."

"Will you answer too...oooo.ooooo?" Eat your hearts out, Jeanette and Nelson (or, I'll gladly do that for you ou..ou...ou - if I ever get my paws on you two ..ooo.oooo!)

If you did that to the bear I would be worried.
A very strong dislike!

Whats this? A bear? Flash will be quite disgruntled over this...I just don't know.....if he stays in his avalanche division...it should be ok...but he must not be anywhere near the Cartwheeling kilt wearers.....that is all I have to say...!

Great shot! Reminds me of the year my mother hung Christmas Balls on the antlers of my Fathers mounted head of a 12 point buck! HE was not amused either!

LOL...what man wouldn't be...why does it seem so right to us women...go figure....I've been figuring and I believe it is a nesting instinct..if it is in our nest ...we must decorate it....

Ha ha. I'm sorry but I find that very amusing Wohlibuli. That sounds like something I would do too!! It must be a girl thing........trying to disguise them?
Cat, I didn't know bears and bucks lived in nests!!??

My mother and sisters and I had a real big laugh at the time. We enjoyed his reaction even more! : )

This bear thought it had got hold of one of Gilli's special rose petal teas for the GoY Winter Wellie Olympic team.
Gilli ~ which tea would suit this bear?
Looks like it needs something soothing. :o)

Hmmm. There is a florists rose named Christmas Cheer, a lovely Christmas red colour. I think that blended with the miniature pink Serene Bouquet would just do the trick TT.

Sounds a very soothing combination Gilli.
Should work a treat. :o)

Wohlibuli comments echo my own.
"Reminds me of the year my mother hung Christmas Balls on the antlers of my Fathers mounted head of a 12 point buck! HE was not amused either!"
I have too many issues with this.
The first: "The bad date." In CO., I dropped off my hiking companion to the beauty saloon. I will leave the typo I went up the block and loitered in this antique shop. The small, pregnant gal gets to talking ... "and what am I doing here." I told her, just checking things out until the guys finish up my date. "Where is she?” I point down the block, not realizing that the taxidermy shop hid the beauty salon.
Her reaction was that I was another Charles Manson and out to get her. True story.
More to the point, and also true.
My youngest daughter once asked me what I wanted done with my body after I was dead. She was about ten and just learning about actuarial statistics. She was concerned ... and I suspect lusted after my nursery.
I looked at the two and Hoya began listing the choices. Nah. not for me. I decided that I wanted to be freeze dried and kept in some nice place in one of their homes. My eldest is a clean freak and I really was hoping for that adoption.
At that point, Hoya, the middle one was simply too grossed out and left the conversation. Bolax, just looked at me and replied -- I think I could deal with that. I was surprised. Then she added, "You wouldn't mind if I rented you out for Halloween parties would you?."
She was going to pimp me out! This is the same kid, who would go into a field with a dead cow and vultures to collect their feathers. She also was curious about how they got inside.
As I said, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I'd never seen this bear before, but, when I was about 5, my mum returned from a trip to this place and told me about it. I thought about it for a very long time afterwards, thinking that it was alive and roaming the palace grounds! I didn't think this pic would have so much comment!
A bear among the cartwheeling kilt-wearers, Cat? Too "grizzly" to imagine!
Hmm, Skyline, I shall be contemplating what you say whilst stuffing the Christmas turkey!

Actually the freeze drying of pets is quite popular over here. Humidity control would be the issue. My eldest daughter is a nurse, and a neat freak to boot. I knew that I would be dusted by her. The other two, I just couldn't trust.
Yes, the entrance and process for the vultures is much the same. I hope I have made your stuffing more uplifting. Do check out my newest photos. Jim gave me his book on David Douglas. I posted some thoughts on that.

Skyline, maybe you should check out the latest thing. Your ashes can be compressed and made into a diamond. You would become a rock. Very fitting for someone who is a rockaholic!!!

Oh..oh..what about where you have your ashes shot into outer space on a rocket? Actually I scattered my husbands ashes on his favorite beach with some of his mothers mixed in with his on last Christmas morning. we were having a fearce windstorm .....it blew some of it out over the water..... I drove back later just to visit and decided to gathered a bit that had fallen close....I found a small plastic container I had in my car from something... put it in the console between the seat...one day my daughter and I took a drive to another beach as I was having a rough day and needed to sit, look at the water and talk. I pulled out the little container to show her where I had put the ashes that I had retrieved...I handed the container to her and sat staring out to sea...in a somber mood......she burst out...."OH..MOM!" I said "What! she said .."It says "Honey Nut Crunch" on here!"...I looked at it and sure enough it was from a little pack of granola that came with some yogurt.... I burst out laughing, she burst out laughing and we both laughed until we had tears running down our cheeks...David loved a good joke..and he certainly had his hand in this one...the ashes are still in the same small container...in side of his favorite a "Crown Royal" bag...purple & gold you know...(King Complex.. Skyline).....and are in the console of my truck now, as I write this...should have seen the face on the guys at the car dealership when I yelled "Oh no I need to get the ashes" when I traded my car in for my truck...they said, oh don't worry we will clean the trash out....I said "No, no I am talking about my husbands ashes"...oh my.....
LOL...you all have a nice day now..ya hear? ~Cat
