This Parrot Tree is located in North Park...it was in almost full bloom with its scarlet flowers. Pic taken today.

Sorry, it's taken me so long to respond to your comment. I still have no idea though, why this tree is called a parrot tree. Just a guess, maybe parrots like the nectar from the flowers or the edible beans.
