Disturbing the soil is so very true. Think world war one, bombs and artillery and the poppie fields in France. This is why we use poppies for rememberance day.
I'm also waiting for my welsh poppies to put in an apperance.

~last year when we came home from the northeast part of the new motorway road system had miles of red poppies growing in the verge~it was so pretty~everything was spruced up and regimented and then there were these wild poppies doing their thing!

I gathered loads of poppy seeds from a friends garden a year or two ago and scattered them all over my back garden. Not a single one has come up!! Well done, you - you must have really green fingers :)
