Advent pockets

I started this tradition when my first grandson was born 19 years ago and continued it for the other grandchildren as they came along. Good job I've only got three! Each year I try to put different little bits and pieces it the pockets but it gets harder as the children get older. Jigsaw puzzles are a good idea, a few pieces each day. It's even better if the jigsaws show pictures of the children themselves, from babyhood to teens, pets, family events, etc. I get as much fun out of it as they do! :)

Great Gee!
I love advent calenders, they are hard to find here. I use to search around the import stores. Making your own is a fantastic idea, applause to grandma Gee!

Thanks Wohlibuli, but I didn't make the pockets - they were purchased locally - I just do the fillings!! I think they probably originated in Europe somewhere. It doesn't have to be expensive to do, a 10p in one, a toffee in another, a pencil, etc etc.
