Thank you all for your kind comments. Here it is called "Yesterday, today and tomorrow" maybe because of the different shades of the bloom.

It is definitely a Brunflesia species....however, there's many species of Brunfelsia.

Brunfelsia is a very commonly planted shrub in most of all the lower elevations of California. It looks very plain until they bloom which is from Winter through Spring.

My favorite is Brunfelsia americana from South America...it is extremely fragrant...I used to have one at my other house, unfortunately, I never dug it up when I moved. It bloomed profusely throughout most of the year. Panther, you should try to purchase this plant it is worth the cost...very beautiful long tubular white-pale-yellow flowers. The fragrance can be over powering for some people though.

Thanks heaps for this info Delonix, I surely will be putting this Brunfelsia Americana as one of the plants to buy in the new year! It sounds a beautiful plant to have.

It should do very well in your tropical climate. They are native to the South American Tropics. Its common Spanish name is "Galán de Noche" which isn't the most politically correct name for this plant, which translates nicely as 'Lady of the night"

Wow...now that's more an easier a plant name to remember, I like it!! Definately on my buy list!! I'd like to have a few Ladies of the night in my garden:-)
