there were two hot air balloons over the house yesterday morning, maybe it was a xmas pressie for someone.

I think I'd like to go in one of those. They used to be seen often over Beryl's house but I haven't seen any for a long time now.

We ran out of air Irish, kidding! I asked the balloon pirate oops pilot to take me up really high into the stratosphere, kidding! I asked if he ever made animals out of his balloons, kidding again! We had a very narrowing escape, now this is the truth! we were running low on helium so I could not do my impersonation of a mouse with tight trousers on.kidding! Ok this is really what happened Irish I asked the Wizard to take me back to Kansas.

Ok no more fooling and mucking about. We were trying to land and the pilot told me we were in for a rough ride so put the camcorder away and hold on tight. We were way of course and heading towards a major 4 lane divided highway with big trucks and lots of cars moving at about 100kms per hour that is if they were going the speed limit. Now have you got this pictured in your head? I was filling my wellies by this time. We were weaving back and forth just over the traffic.Heading from one lane of traffic to the other in both directions of traffic. it was narrowing but we crash landed and the basket tipped and skidded for what seemed eternity. Was the last time that I have been in a balloon but hey I'm crazy enough to do it again. Any takers?

I wish you hadn't told us that story PF. I am one of those weird people who hate even getting on a plane. I get my GP to prescribe me tranquilisers. (It would not be ethical to prescribe my own - but I do tell him what I want. Lol.)

Not my fault Sarraceniac, Irish asked me I was willing to keep my gate closed! You are not weird! I have not got up in a flying contraption since those crazy people decided to use them for missiles! (9/11).
Never understand why they called them MISSiles? like as if the military wanted them to MISS their supposed target?

You can white knuckle all you want Raquel (love your name). The couple that went with me that day was holding on real tight and gave me a dirty look when I asked the pilot to take it up higher.

LOL that'd be me, Pink Floyd! I'm actually scared of heights but would still love to try ballooning...thanks for your comment on my name...I was named after my mother, and when I was small she used to tell me that it was a very special name and should never change it...even now when we meet someone else named Raquel she'll say jokingly: "what! how dare they have our name.." and then we'll both burst out laughing... =)
