what a nice poem.....Life must be hard in this condition.......we don't have that sort of snow here..........people tell that it used to be but not now....specially in London.......good luck

Shahida it is sometimes overwhelming but we do what is necessary to make it through a winter. I would trade beach sand for snow flakes in a heart beat.

We in our countries don't know what hard really is Shahida. Like pf or'pinkie' said you do what you have to do. Thank goodness we don't have it like this every year. We really do live in a pretty nice climate here.

We've received a few feet of the white stuff too...this is quite familiar. When ever you must drive you have to stage it like a military exercise...with precise timing...eat brekkie, layer clothing...get out the door...shovel the stoop, shovel the walk...find the car...clear round the door...pray the locks aren't frozen and find the broom and scraper...clear the vents...hope it starts...(there's a whole routine for starting in the cold) when it starts get the defrost running...shovell the drive or the lane(if you're lucky and very prepared you have a snowblower) then go back in and shower and dress...pack your heavy duds in the backseat incase you get stuck...check the brakes, lights and wipers....back out the driveway...need a flagman to get onto the road if the banks are too high...lol... whew! finally on the road and you pray that the municipality has plowed and sanded...if not you drive without breaks...(very slowly) and coast to stop signs and pray that everyone else knows how to drive in snow...and that they know what to do if their car goes into a skid!! hmmmmm....? must be some kind of masochist to live with this...I'm with you about the beach sand, Pf...lol.
