sparmannia flower, taken 29 December 2008. The plant, about 2.1m high, has 6 flower heads at the moment.

This, and lots more plants, are in a Conservatory, warmed to above about 5C by an electric fan heater; it gets to about 10-15C in daytime. . The Sparmannia always flowers in here about Christmas time, after spending the summer months in the garden. I don't know when it would flower if in a warmer climate. One plant I left outside last year lost all its leaves, but re-grew them from spring - but it didn't flower. It's outside again this winter too.
