I have read that some experts consider this perhaps the best rose ever bred! I will never forget my first encounter with it, a huge bush in full bloom. It is full of warmth and charm. It blooms only once, but then so do most plants!

Have one too Lily doesnt seem to get as deep a shade as yours - its lovely but as for the best ever bred think there will be as many opinions as there are varieties and then some ..

I agree BB. We all have our favourites. This is a very pretty colour. Does it have a lot of fragrance?

I also do not know why this statement was made (about FN being the best rose ever bred), but it was made by rose-breeders themselves, it seems. The flower itself is not dramatic, but it has the most amazing allure. And a whole bush of it is truly quite a sight. Fragrance? Not much (which I resent) :-) ! But heck, nobody's perfect! :-)

Love the colour....in the 70's I used to have a deep salmon pink rose Superstar
which really lit up at dusk..I loved it but it had no great scent either! :o(
