I couldn't find anything on the internet about forcing crocus, but it seems to be working, so far anyways...

Ooh, have only done that with hyacinths, will try it too next year!

They may rot submerged in water like that for too long. I'm trying to force my crocus. I took a small container and placed gravel in the container about 3/4 full. I added water to the gravel but just where the bottom of the bulb touches the water. I saw this method at a garden shop. I made of several of these (crocus and hyacinth) and gave them as xmas gifts. Good luck with yours :)

You can get special bulb vases for this kind of growing. I won some in a raffle last year and had some pleasing results. The bulb vases are hourglass shaped and allow the bulb to sit in the neck and dip its' roots in the water, keeping the bulb quite dry in case it rots. I love your display with the pebbles, very pretty. Just lift the bulbs out of the water a little, or tip away some of the water, that should help. I love crocus, they come in so many colours and colour combinations. They look great naturalised in the lawn too.

I will be keeping an eye open for those bulb vases!
