Roof to a Bure(Fijian House)

This is just an example what a roof to a Fijian Bure is like with the leaves tucked neatly in the rafters. Those fancy poles adorned with coconut fibre strings used to be a thing of the past.
Wonder if that thatched roof would hold the white stuff that's on my roof now?
