Just to help you identify Jacque,the male has a large red patch on the back of his head......the female doesnt.s looks like this is Mrs Woodpecker !!! Thanks for photo.Cant believe the variety of birds youre attracting to your garden now Fantastic..Jane x

Hi again Jacque...Jane here.Just want to tell you about something exciting happened here last night.Late night up chatting and Ray went to make a coffee.Do you remember the bucket Cyril was in for the caption comp? Well since then he still picks his peanuts out of it so keep it topped up.Late last night guess what had its head in the bucket for peanuts...A BADGER....Yes really..spotted Ray and ran off well wouldnt you ?lol Only about six feet from kitchen window !! Must keep that topped up every night now !

Wish I could Gilli - they only appear in the middle of the night and trying to take flash through a window just bounces back at camera.Some people spend years putting out nuts for them and will eventually come up to the house and eat in the open.

I know what you re all thinking - have you seen the night temps here !

Jane had me sitting out in van when first dug out pond as these large footprints appeared in the sand.Managed till 4am then ate all the peanuts myself !

Brilliant photo - they usually disappear so quickly if they spot anyone around.

Jacque jane here....only way to get a photo would be either sat in the van or in the pile of nettles at the top of garden !!I IN THIS COLD...Thought I caught a glimpse of large creature a couple of nights ago but wasnt sure.One of the cats was in window ay 12 30 and I thought that unusual so looked out and saw something in shadows by old apple tree.Last night confirms it.Are thinking of waiting up same time tonight in dark from porch,but definitely NOT outside LOL...maybe when its warmer can sit in van wrapped up with a hot drink.

Now we are all waiting for the photo of the badger! You two have NO choice, BB and Jane - up all night with hot water bottles and blankets. Might allow a tyhermos as well. DO NOT forget the camera!
