He is so pretty!

is he small? I can't 'get' the scale.

Yeah Spritzhenry he is small - I think he would be around 10 cms high. We get quite a few of these little kingfishers around here and their colours can really dazzle you when the sunlight hits them.

I think he is slightly smaller than the British one, then - but ours don't stay still long enough for me to get the tape measure out! LOL.

Actually, as they are not garden birds, I have only ever seen TWO in my whole life! And, to my great pleasure, one of the fleeting sightings was here by our stream in our garden!
