My mother swore there were squirrels in ES, but my brother and I did not believe her...it took us four years!! to get a glimpse of one that clambered down the mango tree next door and jumped the little courtyard off the kitchen...I was stunned! I don't know where they go, but you rarely see them...this one was clambering down a tree we call "Cortes blanco" which has a whitish bark and yellow flowers (no leaves) in December.

You've made me laugh Catfinch, actually he was outside, this tree is right outside our house...because of the high crime rate most houses in El Salvador have walls surrounding them...the razor wire belongs to the neighbor's house, and it's actually to deter human predators rather than to keep the poor squirrel out...! He seems to jum from the tree he is on to the mango tree next door and that's how he gets about...

He looks to be in his bossy..."This is my tree" stance and is most liking barking up a storm at you....is that razor wire on the top of the wall there? Is it to keep your squirrel from leaving?...Hope he is careful clambering back and forth!...
