That was a lovely serenade Cj. The robin didn't even fly away!! LOL
Our robins are bigger than your robins in the UK. Ours are about the size of a thrush...in fact I think they belong to the thrush family. They do have a lovely song.

What a delightful photo wohlibuli. Is the north American robin a symbol of christmas as it's British counterpart is and does its image appear on christmas cards/decorations etc? Tref.

Hi. The NA Robin is usually a harbinger of spring and warm temps. The bird most often seen in winter and on cards etc. is the Cardinal. It is all red and is quite striking. The first time my hubby saw one, (in my parents yard right after coming to the states) he was startled and could not believe we were all so blaise about such a bright colored bird! : )

Great close-up ! You're right, I can't wait to see them in late Winter, I know Spring is right around the corner !
