Last summer a Sparrow Hawk was too close for comfort around my garden for several weeks.
Swooped on Collared Doves, which the hawks seem to consider an easy meal. Even dive-bombed the Collared Doves' nest in a neighbour's tree.
The Sparrow Hawks are being seen more often in built-up neighbourhoods, and I think the main reason is the attraction of the Collared Doves.
Gail ~ well-photographed.

Thank you, you'd all have laughed at me slithering up the carpet towards the patio windows : )
They are lovely to look at, but scare all the other birds away
(and eats them)

I reckon all the most dedicated photographers get in really ridiculous positions to take the best pictures. Well done on your slithering. :o)

I can just picture you 'slithering' to take the shot :o)))) But thats what has to be done to get some good shots, I have knelt in some very unsavoury things while trying to get a good shot, all in the good name of photography. LOL

Ha ha no I did'nt but I did run quite fast once when I disturbed some wasps, I stuck my camera lens into a bush to get a lovely butterfly but the nest was just inside.

Beautiful to look at but lethal. We have one patrolling our area. Not been for couple of months now [hope havent spoken too soon].Every so often find a pile of feathers...usually a collared dove. Its Always a shock to find them.Only seen it a couple of times...once had just caught a dove...quite distressing to see,but it is nature after all : (
