Ive just had a look round my local plant shop and they had this...... i was thinking of getting one...

Angie - this is Osmanthus heterophyllus, possibly 'Goshiki'. Take a look at mine - maybe not quite as much variegation on yours, so possibly another named species of O.heterophyllus.

Thanks Spritz i knew you would have an idea, i will look at yours now. this is only a baby about 4" tall so maybe the varigation will be stronger when it gets bigger.

If it's that tiny, then potting it up is a good idea to get its roots more established.

it is a tiny dear sweet little baby, so i think this would be best.
