At last the sun has hit the house and stayed around. In a few weeks I'll have direct sun for a few hours. Ready for some blooming!

It is rather alone looking, and still cold. But this sun starts up the house so quickly. The goldfish has began blooming again and many more to come. I've actually neighbors on all sides Eggbox. We keep our tree lines for privacy. We've had a bit more snow than usual, I'm loving it. Every new layer keeps it a fresh white.

Yahoo!! Sun at last. You must be so pleased GT. I know what you mean about each new layer of snow keeping things fresh. Around here the snow is starting to be quite dirty looking. I hate it when it looks this way. So drab and ugly.

I've been grateful. We're usually much more gray as well, but this year it'll be breakup before we see that mess I think. We've three weeks where all the snow and ice breaks and melts and reveals, sadly, all the trash! I will say that a lot of spread is ravens not humans.
I hope you get a few fresh spring snows on top to keep it a little nicer before the melt, Gilli.

Well, I do and I don't want fresh snow GT. It would make things nicer to look at but then again I want the snow to go!! LOL. Our temps have been slightly above freezing for the past week so the snow is slowly starting to melt. The river is free again, or at least the south Thompson is. I think all in all, if it would just go now I'd be happier.

If you can get it to go this early Gilli, I hope it does for you. I've months to go. :-) Sounds like it is starting to warm up.

Thank you! Alot of folks are reminded of little vacation cabins when they see it. I've a rather novel design. :-)
Marguerite, I haven't seen direct sun since mid November. Light, no sun. Just the house though. Other side of the hill gets sun all winter. I had one cabin even heated up in the sun every day. Shortest is about 2hrs 45 min sun. I do live alone here. No progeny. I get my water from a fresh water spring in another valley or of the city supply. I keep it in a 32 gallon container for plants and a couple small ones for me. I heat with diesel fuel through a toyo stove, very effecient. I'm supplementing with an electric radiator to use less fuel and cause less emission. Plus, saves the plants if anything happens. Out of town this is a more common way of life. Some people have wells and such, some places the water isn't so great. Saves on pumping and thawing costs to have a smaller indoor water supply. Hope that answers some questions. It's really lovely, long as you can take a long dark winter.

Oh yea...., here comes the sun !! I bet this is a wonderful sight to behold after 3 long months of low light ! Your cabin looks right at home in this snowy setting.

My days off are heaven, all day I could just sit in the window, south southeast sun streaming in! It has been so long. I feel like my cat, napping when it hits my face.....lol. I'm about to post a pic for snow, we've had a few feet since this pic, looks like the cabin is at ground level. :-) Warming up, could snow again, but we're finally starting to melt a little.
