Pink dandelion

Pink dandelion (Taraxacum pseudoroseum)

This plant was given to me by a very fine plantsman & it did seed but unfortunately the slugs & snails loved it, unlike ordinary dandelions. I think I have one or two seedlings if the bad weather hasn't got to them.

Strange how just changing the colour of a flower makes it desirable.

Oh my, it's true! I couldn't believe it. Is it a nature species or was crossed to obtain this colour? They look gorgeous in pink too :-)
First time my mother came to visit me here, we saw a few of the yellow ones in the fields. She liked the flowers so much she couldn't beleive at first it was a weed.

Oh truely pink !! I haven't ever seen a dandelion with pink tepals. It's provably a mutation.

It was given to me by a very good plantsman, who does grow different things. It does come true from seed. If you look at the leaves, they are slightly different to the normal dandelion. Also slugs & snails love it, where as they don't bother with the yellow one.

Just in case anyone is interested, the seed of this pink dandelion can be bought from www.raybrowns.co.uk/perennial-flowerseeds
