they nest here every yr , but usually in another tree.
noticed them cos they kept coming into the garden for twigs

im not sure Arlene, the first of the spring lambs were born here in Dublin so i guess spring has sprung lol

There's a magpies nest in a tree at back of me, they come back every year to it.

Looks like they've put in the foundations and gone off to arrange a mortgage for the complete build :o)

Aye Janette esp as they put a roof on their nests - could work out pricey.

Like crows they build nests now so that trees in leaf providing cover when young arrive.Also easier for them to get in out whilst building .

Just make sure Eileen you dont leave all your jewellery on display - very partial to shiny objects.x

i was cleaning up the garden yesterday and ive now loads of twigs so ive left them in a pile in the middle of the garden , might make it a bit easier for the magpies to finish off their nest

Good idea....our "bonfire" from last year still in place...the rooks from next door raid it to make their nests [well thats my excuse anyway !]lol

I found a broken egg shell in the garden yesterday it looked like a doves so they must have one nest nearby , the ones that usally build under the front porch havent started yet !
