Is this a miniature climbing rose? I have one in my garden but don't know what its called.

I don't believe it's a miniature but if you ask Jacque, she should be able to tell you as she has one.

Its a lovely rose Toto are you going to grow it over your fence?

No Pansy I'm going to grow it on next door's garage wall.

I love climbers..this looks like a wonderful one..

I hope so Cat. The only thing with this one it doesn't say that it has a scent so it's gone to the bottom of the garden, I have bought another called Schoolgirl which is aupposed to be highly scented, so have put that by the patio. Shal have to wait and see what materialises.
Bought the schoolgirl yesterday a day after the other one Pansy and has gone on my fence.

Sounds like a whole load of climbers...should be lovely..not sure how much new planting I will do this year as I most probably will not be here at my house most of the time...but will try to keep what is here, going.

I hope all of your plants survive without your personal care Cat. I have bought and planted five new climbers this year and all of them have been very inexpensive. My two new climbing roses were £1-45 at Aldi. I bought two Clematis (Clematis cirrhosa freckles and Clematis rouge cardinal) and a Solanum glasnevin from Morrisons at £1-79 each. All of the plants look very healthy. If supermarkets carry on like this, the poor old gardening centres will go out of business and then where will we go for that something a little unusual?

I did not realize you were going to a supermarket..that is too bad..the grocery stores are able to mark them down because they over charge for the groceries more than likely..and are not making a profit on the plants but it is a good draw to get you away from the other grocery stores and it will be hard on the garden centers...would be worth it to give your garden stores good business yet as well. They will be there even when the grociery stores do not have plants in and they can answer more questions and give good service when it comes to your garden needs all together...but only if they are supported by gardeners. I do now how nice it is to find a good price like that...so sure don't blame you..but the Grocery store is not doing the Garden shops any favors doing a loss leader like that...you must realize that the grocery stores are not making a profit on them...that is the only important part to remember..the garden shops have to have higher prices to be able to keep bringing you their services...having been in retail for 18 years, have to get on my soap box..sorry..getting off my soapbox now...lol..enjoy your great deals..I would too...

I actually agree with what you say Cat and hope the garden shops continue to do good business. Personally I shall continue shopping at the garden centres as They're nice to visit and I spend hours walking around them and always end up buying something. Personally I hate supermarkets but so many of our shops have closed, not only from the competition posed by the supermarkets but also because of the extortionate rents they are charged by both the owners and the local councils.
There was an article in our local paper, only the other day where Southend Borough Council would not allow shopkeepers to put signs or seats outside their shops on health and safety grounds, however if the shopkeeper pays £100-00 for a licence he can put a sign in front of his shop. Work that one out.
I don't blame you stepping up on your soapbox but I can't resist a plant bargain if there is one going..

Thanks Jacque. I hoped it would, judging by the picture on the packed, but pictures can be deceiving.

I cannot resist it either Toto..would absolutely love this climber for sure...and would snap it up at a good price in a heart beat..I hope it grows wildly for you..!
Reminds me of the last piece of a favorite poem....by Mary Oliver
"and what is it you plan to do with the rest of your one wild and precious life?"...
Well.. I think I shall live unafraid and grow like a rambling rose...actually.. ;o)

I wish you well to achieve your goal Cat. Go for it and grow older disgracefully. That's what I intend to do.
