Viburnum tinus 'Variegatum'

Viburnum tinus 'Variegatum' (Viburnum tinus 'Variegatum')

I was so pleased to find this - it was on my wish-list, and now it's in my garden! It needs a more sheltered position than the non-variegated ones.

New one on me Spritz - looks lovely think the variegation lifts it .

I'm glad you like it, BB! I couldn't believe my eyes when I found it!

Anything variegated gets a thumbs up as our borders tend to be shaded so this will go on the ever increasing wish list .

Make sure it's sheltered from cold winds, though, if you do find one.

I ll put it near the Coprosma Spritz , seems to survive even a Lavetera has retained all its leaves through this winter !

Yet my poor C.armandii has been hit real hard .

Yes, my Lavatera had lots of leaves - just the topmost ones got a bit frosted. I pruned it back today - but not as hard as I normally would as it was a new one last year.
Which Coprosma is it? My 'Beatson's Gold' is OK - all the others look like Monty Python's parrot!

I THINK my C. armandii is OK - I haven't climbed up the tree to take a look...lol.

Oh its that rampant ? Lucky you .I ve got the chocolate coloured Coprosama if that makes sense the one with the dark brown leaves .

Monty Pythons Parrot ? Believe he was a Norwegian Blue so if pining for the Fjords they are not dead Spritz - merely resting !

Resting? Hmm. more like shedding leaves every time I breathe!

We put staples up the tree and tied the shoots in as it grew - no, not the Coprosma, the Clematis!!! It has a lot of new shoots, as far as I can see without climbing up on a wall and gazing upwards. It isn't rampant yet, but I have hopes for it. It flowered the first year (one flower), none last year, maybe this year??

I thought they were pretty bomb proof being evergreen but ours not doing at all well.Yet other things regarded as tender totally unaffected - we have an evergreen honeysuckle telmanii ? with orange flowers that loves it so cant explain why Clematis is suffering.

Hark at me chatting about plants like I had a garden as nice as yours !

Don't be daft, BB - we all have plants and that's what we are talking about! Funny how some plants MEANT to be hardy have suffered, while others have survived no problem!

ooohhhh this is stunning, have'nt seen this one before is it a new variety?

28 Feb, 2009

No, Angie - just not very commonly available in GCs. I discovered that it existed while I was researching for one of my course lessons! It's been on my 'wish-list' since then.
