Thank you all.
It's the same here Bonkers. I get the cheap apples for them and there are five in the garden at the moment, all at about the same stage of consumption, but any other blackbird approaching is quickly chased told which side his bread is buttered. No competition tolerated.

We also buy cheap applea for them now Toto.Have 3 ancient apple trees and once they have eaten all the windfalls in November, they still expect apples every day ! Lol...: )

I find it strange here. I have no apple trees of my own but regularly by the cheap apples for them but every now and again the seem to go off them and they lay on the grass and rot until I pick them up and throw them in the compost bin. I continue putting them out even when they are not eaten because you never know when they will start again and sure enough they do.

That is strange Toto...here they never stop eating them, and woe betide us if a day goes by without putting the apples out ! Bird fists shaking at us outside the porch window !Give them sultanas every day too..can feel them brush past our hands as soon as they are put out !
Think we are just too soft !

If you are soft then join the club. The birds in our garden get wildbird seed, niger seed, fat balls, peanuts, mealworms, any spare cake, left over rice or Yorkshire pud, and currants as well as the berries from the cotoneaster and pyrocantha.
lets all be soft together.

I'd send you a food parcel Jacque, but I'm not risking life and limb with those ravenous birds for anyone.

I should hope not. Tesco are the most agressive and uncaring organisation you could possibly find. They will tread all over anyone who gets intheir way. They have no regard for the laws of our country except when they suit them. I will stop now before I get myself into trouble.
