Canary Island Palm is so commonly grown and has naturalized in California, it's called California Date Palm. This is one of many photos taken at University of San Diego. It's a very expensive Catholic University in San Diego, CA. It has very beautiful gardens and is a private University with tons of money.

Yes, many of the building have the Roman or Spanish look. This is a Catholic University...so it has many columns.
