Thanks for all your kind comments....
Newfie, this plant originally came from a piece that my MiL gave us when we first got married twenty eight years ago and before we moved it had spread around the garden. When we decided to move after twenty one years we dug up a small portion of it and planted it in this new garden along with the white violets you can also see.The Wanda has gradually got larger and I suppose I will have to eventually split it up...
I did have a hose in hose one {one flower inside the other} that we bought from a nursery, but I haven't seen it in the back garden this year so will have to go and hunt it out.Glad you like it though...

Hi Bjs the only green flowered Primula I have is one I bought last year called Primula 'Francisca' and had forgotten that it was in the garden until it came into flower last week.I don't think I have seen the green form of Primula Wanda but have the Hose in Hose of the above type.
I also have a red Cowichan and one of the Oak Leaved Primulas.I have diffrent coloured Cowslips and have a photo on here somewhere of one of my red Cowslips with what looks like Goldlace markings on the flowers.I have mangaged to keep a black form of Primula Goldlace but the red edged one I had seems to have dissapeared.I like Oxslips as well and have some plants int he garden but think I might have false ones as they seem to be crossing with other Primulas before I got them......

The Jack-in-the-green wanda I was refering to is normal wanda colour with a green bract behind the flower.
There are a lot of colour forms of primrose that are Jack-in-the-green.
Have a look at( Barnhaven Primroses) online they have a jack photo showing

Hi Bjs,Funnily enough I have just bought two of those type of Primulas quiet recently, but can't remember whether they came fromAshwood Nurseries at Kingswinford or from our local Nursery.I will have to look and see if I have taken any photos of them..
I have Barnhaven Primroses in my favourites and was looking at the site last night.I believe as well they used to be based in Cumbria bu are now located in France.I have one of their catalogues up in the loft from about tewnty years ago...
Thanks for that Brian I will have a look for them as I don't think the two I have are a wanda type...
