Seemed to take an age to get established, but now finally flowering well. This one came home with me as a seedling in a yogurt pot from a friends garden.

Not just lovely - gorgeous! Is Helleborus good for shaded areas? I'd love this in my garden.

Tosh - Yes, definately! This one is in a very shady area under an apple tree, beside a hedge and with a Rhododendron on the other side. It's taken a while to get to flower tho....maybe because of the excessive shade? It's doing ok now tho ;-)

Please note, I had to get down on my hands and knees to take this photo looking up at the flowers - you only see the 'wrong' side of them overwise!

Lovely Sid...both you and Spritz seem to be spending a lot of time on your hands and knees photographing your plants !

It was worth the laying on the damp soil Sid.....a fabulous shot..shows how the flowers hang down like lanterns....love it!

Bb - he he he.....I'm getting some practice in - the number of seedlings I'm going to have this year I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time on my hands and knees!
Thanks Janey :-)

I've been looking at other hellebores on the site and am totally smitten! I don't think my 3sq m plot/building site is going to be able to cope with all the lovely things I've seen (and now lust after) since joining GoY!
