Towers over me - must be over ten feet. It's dark now so will look properly tomorrow. It buzzes with bees when the sun's shining - shame there wasn't blue sky behind it when I photographed it.

Surprises me too - soil is neutral, not acid. It's very dry where it is and only gets sun in the early morning.

Have you pruned it at all, to encourage the height and shape ?

Just a couple of branches at the very bottom which were trailing on the ground and trapping loads of leaves and rubbish.
