I love Auriculas have been looking into them recently, yours looks lovely.
Sometimes a tripod can help for close-ups, the camera needs to be held as still as poss you see (if you haven't got one you can get them, what they call table top or mini tripods, really cheap on ebay), or try standing further back and zooming in and out slowly till it looks focused. Jacque seems to be great at the close-up maybe she'll have some tips?

I do my close ups on a flower setting on the scene programme....dont zoom in to much but hold camera near the flower.... it comes out better.....

I seem to have the same problem as you, Funky. I find that I often get fuzzy shots with the Macro setting when trying to take close ups of anything small. yet when I do it for my miniature roses they seem to come out fairly well!

The bright yellow shows through anyway, FF. Does your camera have a macro button or setting? I use this on my Fuji for closeups.
