Um, can I borrow Buffy for a little while?? LOL ! I think voles ate my entire Oriental Lily bed last winter. Only one came up out of about 20. I was sick about it.......they were my favorite flowers in the whole yard.

preserve us from Voles and field mice... I've just found the carnage of a winter's habitation of v&m in the snow...they nearly cleaned out my Blue Flag...and after I was so kind as to scatter bird seed for them! lol...haven't checked the lily bed yet...Make sure to give Buffy a nice big bonus this spring... Know if there's such a service as "RENT A CAT"?

Wish I could help you out Lori, I've been fighting with the little vermen for decades. When you live in a rural area with lots of open fields and pastures around, your pretty much doomed. Yes, I'm afraid voles just LOVE oriental lilies, come to think of it, I think the dastardly little devils will eat just about anything if they are hungry enough. I started planting mine in homemade plastic cages. That was the only way I could keep them for more than one season before I got Buffy. Even with having a cat now, I still probably lose two or three plants a month, but that's a vast improvement. She's done a great job and she's definitely eaten her weight in voles...hehehe.. how many people did I just gross out.? Sorry about that.!
