Henry looks very much at home, so think it must be, Mikec. It looks lovely, Spritz

Certainly is home, Mike! Weren't we lucky to find it! It dates back to 1530 and would have been all one with next door - probably built by a Yeoman farmer. We have beams and lots of original features to be proud of including Tudor plasterwork!!! We fell for the garden and the space as well as the house, even though we first saw it in late autumn. The smaller bit on the l-hand end is our new Garden room. Henry is FILTHY as we'd just come back from a very muddy walk.

You are right Jac - he loves following me round ESPECIALLY if I am digging, because there are lumps of Blue Lias stone and he pinches one and runs off round the garden with it. He expects me to chase him - no chance - I crouch down and tell him to give it to me! Eventually he does.

Is that the summer garden to the left ?

To the left round the end of the wall is a long and wide area of lawn with a Copper Beech, a baby Magnolia, another weeping Ash, a Silver Birch and a Cedrus Deodara. The stream runs along the edge down at the bottom of a bank. At the end is the shady area with large shrubs in it, underplanted with pretty little flowers. Then you turn right, cross the stream on a wooden bridge to the second area of garden, just as big. You will have seen most of this in other pictures. The new Garden room overlooks this area. You can choose one of two gates to go through into the final area at the back of the house - we call it 'Henry's garden' because we put the gates in to keep him safe and confined when he was a puppy. This is where we did a complete makeover last year, and I've colour-themed the new borders purple, white and gold. So now you have had a word-tour of the garden!

Wow! sounds bliss :) and my favourite colours purple, white and gold/yellow.
Do you have any new projects starting ?

Yes, on the bank of the stream to the right of the picture and up towards the house a bit, I want to plant tall bog plants - but the stream does flood after very wet weather so it's a risk they might not stay put! I have a lot of preparation to do, as there are nettles, dock, large clumps of grass etc plus washed-down stones. My husband has built a small paved platform next to the old stone arch of the bridge so that I can get down to the bank (and back up) safely. It's quite a drop down. I have left it while I've been planting up the new back borders and also post-winter maintenance on the rest of the garden, but it's beckoning me...I have lots of Lythrum plants I grew from seed just waiting to go in! I also want to change the shape of one of the two small lawns just outside the house windows. Its edges are too straight and I like curves...That's not a big project, though, it's just getting it pleasing with laying out hoses or bits of stick first before cutting. I always have a project going. Fun, isn't it!

lol Yes it's great fun & I like your new project, I agree it won't be much fun waving bye bye to your plants lol. Do you get ducks in the stream at all?
My next project is sorting the front garden, I've done some changes to it, however it's not pulling my heart strings, so I will keep mulling it over for a while & see what creative thoughts inspire me :)
