Lovely - the only variety of elder worth garden space..the rest should be left in the wild .

I have this in my back garden, really beautiful. I cut it back hard each year but it shoots up again very quickly. I have tried to grow from seed but no luck so far. I have also taken cuttings with equal lack of succes!

I agree Bonkers.
It grows to around 30 ft. Pansy but as Gee says, you can cut it hard back each year and keepo it in check.
Thanks Milky.

Thanks Lori. There's no reason why yours shouldn't at least as goodas they are very easy to grow.

I've noticed that the foliage on mine is very lacy but seems sparse...is this common?...or is it because my bargain specimen was a little pot bound? I just put it in the ground...it was so pot bound that if I left it any longer it might be beyond saving.

I don't know Lori. I suggest you get it into its final position in the garden as soon as possible and find out.
