I do like streams and falls that look natural, or as natural as possible, given the restraints of space and budget!

I just posted a pic of the pond area. Each spring the melt water crests about this time...or earlier...and my little stream does not look like this...yet.

I'll search out that pic, Lori.
I know what you mean - the brook at the back of our houses was barely moving when I first saw it in September, before the rain. It's gone down a bit, but I think it'll be ages before it gets back to what it was at first sight.
think I'll use this pic as the basis for building my own watercourse, one day!

That will be good healthy outdoor work, Fran. I love working with stone. Maybe look about to see if there are any sites that talk about Zen rock arrangements! I have decided to name my rocks...will have to post a pic of one of the huge ones up on my hill! it's a cube of basalt that must weigh tons...it is about 10 ft. sq. will post a pic when I can get back into the bush!...more snow to melt yet.

lol, well, when I said "building my own" ... i should have said "getting my own built". I could manage a mni-fall and mini-stream in a reaised bed, maybe, but anything bigger would probably be behond me.
I've found zome Zen gardens - GoYpedia has a section as well. I like the idea, but not overall - ideally, I'd like to split the garden into a few sections, each shielded from the rest, and have different "moods" - as there's only me here, I can make them one-person areas!
wow, that boulder sounds humungeous! lol I struggle(and don't always win) with paving slabs - I'd want smaller pieces that I could move myself, tweak here and there tillI'm satisfied.
And then there's the power! I've not much experience with solar power (my last place only got one hour sunlight each day, and only if I were lucky) - but I'm also not sure about external mains power.
I look forward to your pics of your rocks!
