You grew this to rid you of Ground Alder, I was sent four babies by a fellow Goy member to help me rid one bed which has suddenly become massed, nev er had it before in this garden but a nightmare where we were, so immagine my dismay when it appeared. It came in a load of dung. Could you tell me how long does it take to spread to do the job, I over wintered the cuttings and just planted them out about a month ago they are now in flower. I have not put them in the bed with the G alder yet as I had applied spray to check it. If I move them in the Autumn when will I recieve results? The particilar bed is a rose bed forming a wide hedge, so not easy to get between to weed with the thorns!!.

What you see in the picture is about one metre wide and I think that was three small plants two years ago. I did the same in some beds of two elderly friends who had ground elder. In one it worked like a dream ; a ten foot bed of ground elder is now a ten foot bed of geraniums ; a few ground elder shoots to zap with Round Up with overall a complete transformation. In the other garden the ground elder is still winning and the geraniums are just growing in between it. So its just trial and error. I hope it works for you.

I wonder if this would work against my Morning Glory(bindweed) here...I think it would take over the world if it could get away with it!

Bindweed is such a nuisance that I suppose anything is worth a try.
