rufous hummingbird female, dancing in fountain spray, and breaking a water droplet with her beak. The small splashes from the bursting droplet can be seen in the image. Our front patio area

you're correct, Skippy. The hummers do seem to be playing in the water spray from the fountain. It's fun to watch them, they really enjoy it.

thankyou Milky for the nice compliments, - yes, we do love being able to have these birds visit us each year. We really look forward to their return each March, and really miss them when they leave at summer's end. They do add such a lot to the enjoyment of the garden.

missed thanking you, Tasteya, not sure how I missed it, but thankyou now, for the nice compliments. I was very pleased to capture the water droplet actually bursting, despite the fact that the image itself is not as sharp as I'd like. Am hoping to get another chance at one like this, but it's probably almost impossible..
