I found the bulb in its box at the back of a cupboard. and decided to grow it on. There are 9 huge blooms on 2 stems.

It is, Arlene, especially as I imagined that it was going to turn out to be a plain red.

I was actually searching for an adjustable spanner when I found a large bulb with the beginnings of green shoots lying on a shelf. My wife remembers a friend of hers giving her a boxed planter and bulb as a house-warming present back in September (planter and box missing). Poor wee thing - just glad I found it, and helped it grow up. :-).

As you will have seen from my photos I also have one with a white stripe down each of the petals.
You were very lucky to find it in time! I love it!

Many Thanx, Balcony! So glad I found this one in time! Your Amaryllis colour combos are fab, methinks! :-)
Is there a chocolate brown variety, I wonder? May post as a question, sometime. :-)
