A rockery is on my wish list. This looks lovely. Welcome to GoY ... it is great having your own garden isn't it...a little haven of calm in a busy day!

I love to see a nice and neat rockery, it's lovely too see the dainty little flowers in amongst the pebbles, great job.
I have tried to do one when I had a pond many years ago, I succeeded in arranging it in a fashion, only a huge heron stole all my fish and punctured the pond. After that I lost heart with the pond and the rocks keep getting moved around each time I do the garden. I will try again soon and with a pond too, lessons have been learned about fish and herons.

Really like your rockery and think the hydranger adds something. I tried to have a little rockery last year but a few of the plants went a little wild.

Hi Guys think I must be the craziest lady in Ireland today - on the way to pick up Ben from school I spied that someone had dumped a mound of soil and rocks on some waste ground - on the return journey Mammy got out of the car, much to the little fellas horror and started to collect the rocks - some beauties there (and to think I spend hours in the country finding them) going back for more later - the maddest thing was I was saying “nice soil wish I had a bucket” (and I AM SERIOUS) passing drivers must have thought I was crazy as it was chucking it down – however this rockery is my new baby and it needs attention.

I had to laugh as to how you got your rocks. My large stones came from a school trip to Wales. My youngest son was about 9 when he went on a trip to Wales and stayed on a farm. He said he would bring back a pressie for us but I said not to waste his money on us. On his return he showed me a couple of keyrings he'd bought for his dad and brother and said my pressie was in his case. When I picked it off the coach I thought it was heavy but put it in the car and drove home. When I unpacked it I found 6 very large stones from the beach. Everytime they went down to the beach he brought a stone back and put it in his case. Well I did say don't buy mr anything!!!! LOL

When we go to Dunottar Castle (near Aberdeen) I always bring back a few stones for my garden.
