thanks janey. the lavender hedges were planted 10 years ago as tiny little 9cm pots. getting a bit bald in some parts as the cat likes to hide in there, cant bring myself to dig them out.

thanks Sanbaz. I am waiting for the lavender to flower and then all the roses will be out too. The arch is new this year and I have planted two climbing roses next to it but as they came as bare root will not give much of a show this year but next year will look fab, providing I get the pruning right! lol

Hi Mageth...You said your garden is "not a tidy sort of garden". Well, gardens, don't have to be "tidy" plants looking like tin soldies in a line could ook a bit boring for some people. I have an area in my garden, that I live wild, it's a haven for the wildlife. The garden is what you make of it....if it's ok by you, then that's fine...just enjoy it. Oh by the way, I have decided on a date to open my garden for charity. I will open my garden on 22nd and 23rd August.....That should keep me busy lol.

Thanks Louis. I was out yesterday tidying the borders and rearranging my pots. I have invested in some really sturdy plant supports and it has made a difference this year. The weather was good at the weekend and we had some friends round. we got the chimenea going and it was lovely to sit and enjoy good company, good wine and enjoy the garden which is looking full and fresh. Good luck with your open day, hope the sun shines for you

Thank you so much Mageth. I'm rearanging my garden in a couple of areas, as I have lost so many plants last February.........Well, it gives me the opprtunity do something different. The area where I had the cacti, is no more, as I lost most of them, so got to think, what to do in that area????
I always look forward to my opening day. It is nice talking to people about gardening experiences.

Ive had a few losses too, worst was my pot of agapanthus which had about 20 flowers last year. A little ray of hope though I noticed 1 leaf pushing through the soil. Looking forward to more of your pics as the big day approaches

Hi Mageth, so you have your agapanthus in the soil. I have mine in a big pot, but I should really need to find a nice shelter spot in the garden, as they are getting too cramped in the the pot. I'm thinking of getting another olive tree, so I can plant it were I used to have my cacti. I have already done some changes in my sunken patio. Got some wall pots etc. Will take a picture soon. My fig tree is full of figs, and just about ripe as well, so another couple of hot sunny days, and i will be eating fresh figs LOL !!!

no they are in a pot Louis. left it out in the garden during all the cold weather. usually place it against a wall where it has done ok.That will teach me! An olive tree sounds wonderful and will fit in with the mediterranean look. Im glad your fig tree didnt suffer as I understand that the figs take a year to ripen?
