The true colouring is far more brown than the purple tinge in this pic. I got this plant from my dad a few years ago, and feel so respionsible for it, because he asks after, and inspects it, every year (although I wouldn't "give a fig" if it permanently "went over"). Last year, when about to produce 5 bloooms, the neighbour's guttering sprang a huge leak, drenched this plant in floods of rainwater, and rotted the flower buds overnight. He wa so upset! Think that, now he has a new garden area, he may well get this one back - LOL! :-)
