does it eat plants Newfie or just other bugs?

I hope it doesn't eat plants, Newfienurse! After all, you have already enough trouble with the earwigs, don't you?

Lovely bug! Very shiny! I've just caught a lily beetle trying to distroy my plants - pesky critters. How silly to be bright red though - it's just asking to be squished....so I did.

You thought right Newfie. I do like it. I can't say for sure whether we have them or not as I have never seen one and I have just looked in my insect book and couldn't find it. It's certainly a nice looking beetle.
The lily beetle is also a nice looking beetle Greenfingers. It's just a shame that they are so destructive.

I can't say I've seen one like this before. I hope it doesn't eat plants, Holantina, because yes, I have my share of earwig!

The dreaded lily beetle is bright red, just a bit bigger than a ladybird and munches his way through your lilies like a Sunday roast - I'm not a cruel person but there's only one thing for these - crunch/squish. We all spend a lot of money on our plants and the last thing we want to be doing is providing these critters with expensive food and have nothing to show for our money. I love your little shiny beetle - actually I love all shiny things.....
