What has happened to the petals? We have a variety of flat petals and florets. New Variety???

Yes they seem to manage the winters. I've had them die off when they are 2-3 years old in the heat of the summer, but I seem to get some self seeded or other's I've raised from their seed to carry on.

I wonder if they have crossbred. This is an unusual shape. very showy petals.
