Tristania conferta aka Losphostemon conferta - Brisbane Box

This tree widely grown as a street tree throughout Coastal California...as its name suggest is native to around Brisbane, Australia. They grow to very large trees more than 65 feet/ 20 meters tall with a 40 foot / 13 meter spread.

Yes, I was going to write down that name also...however, in CA. it's mostly referred to and sold as Brisbane Box. This tree is so very widely used in Southern California and the San Francisco Bay Area as a street tree. It is so popular because of it's beauty #1 and 2 because of its drought tolerance.

And would you believe - we don't see many of them here in Queensland anymore! Still see a few of them down Brisbane way though.

It is such a beautiful lush tree. They are so very widely used in Coastal California.

It is indeed native to Australia and around the Brisbane area - we sometimes call it the Queensland Brush Box. Looks lovely when covered in its white flowers.
